Danish Rupee ?

In the years about 1753 - 1776 the Danes minted rupees in Tranquebar mainly used as trading coins in Bengal.

What the Danish rupees looked like is not excatly  descreibed, so until further investigations are published, they presumably looked like Moghal rupees.

The photo show a rupee with the mintname Arcot in the name of Shah Alem II with trident and a flowerbud and the year 1181 (30.5.1767 - 17.5.1768) and RY 14 (10.7.1772 - 29.6.1773).
Silver, 11,40 gram, KM 53

The second rupie is with year 1183 on obverse (7.5.1769 - 26.4.1770) og RY 16 (19.6.1774 - 8.6.1775) on reverse.
Sølv, 11,33 gram, 22-22,5 mm, KM 53.

They are thought to have been minted for a hitherto unknown trading company.
